Max’s Team

Find out how Max has smashed his developmental goals with support from his team.

Max with his mum

Max was born prematurely with several health complications including bilateral congenital cataracts, which affected his vision. After four and a half months in neonatal intensive care, he was finally discharged – and has had early intervention therapy from VisAbility since that very first week.

Max’s mum built a team of specialists to fast-track his development to get him ready for school, including a Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Dietitian, Orthoptist, and Social Worker.

Max is going to Kindy next year. Starting school can be scary, but Max isn’t worried. He’s got his whole team rooting for him.

Emma

Physiotherapist

Max has worked with Emma since he was five months old. She’s been there every step of the way, so it only makes sense that when Max took his first physical steps, his mum sent the video straight to Emma.

With Emma’s tailored strategies, Max has reached several developmental milestones and improved his coordination, core strength, balance and motor skills.
